For our passenger’s security, EGYPTAIR check-in agents check the travel documents of passengers to prevent individuals from traveling with invalid / faulty documents.
The following travel documents are typical travel documents required.
Depending on your destination, a passport including a visa or other form of identity-card is always required for travel and you may be asked to prove your identity to airlines, security personnel as well as immigration authorities, at various stages of your journey. To allow sufficient time to apply for a passport or a visa, we recommend that you check, early enough, what the applicable entry requirements are for your destination.
Your travel agent or the consulate/embassy of the country you are travelling to, will be able to provide you with relevant information on any required documents. Ensure that your travel documents are valid and in order and note that many countries require your passport to be valid at least 3-6 months beyond your intended stay in that country.
It is advisable to take photocopies of your passport, tickets, driving license, credit cards and other travel documents along with you. A copy of, for example, the passport page that contains your photo and your personal details can be useful in the event of your passport getting lost.
As required by government regulations, passport must be duly signed by passport holder. We, as an airline, cannot undertake any examination of passengers' identities or travel documents when they book their tickets . A failure to travel with the correct documentation could result in the passenger being refused travel, entry to the country of their destination or stop-over, deportation or incarceration and in such circumstance(s) you will be solely responsible for any cost ,loss or damage which you or we (or our agents or servants ) incur .
Many countries require travelers to hold an entry visa to enter or travel through the country. In some cases visas can be obtained upon arrival but in most cases a visa must be obtained prior to the journey. Information on visa requirements can be obtained from your travel agent or from the embassy/consulate of the country to which you intend to travel. Obtaining a visa is the responsibility of the passenger; airlines have no legal obligation to inform passengers of any visa requirement in connection with the sale of flight tickets.
For some countries it is required or recommended that you have certain vaccinations, and it is worth obtaining these well before your trip. Information about vaccinations can be obtained from a travel agent or health centre. Also check before you travel that you have a sufficient quantity of personal medicines.
EGYPTAIR is now applying E-tickets on all its domestic routes and most of its international routes, which is an electronic version of the conventional paper ticketand is kept in a computer database that is used instead of a printed paper ticket. When it’s time to travel, simply present your receipt and passport when checking in at the airport. If booking online, there’s no need to visit a local office to pick up your ticket or wait to have it delivered, simply print your receipt during the online booking process.
Please ensure that your ticket is booked and valid for your travel date(s) and destination(s)
Consider the purchase of travel insurance that covers both yourself and your baggage. If you travel frequently, the purchase of annual insurance is often a good buy. Airlines are not responsible for valuables, fragile items or perishable goods carried in check-in baggage.
We would like to remind our valued customers that they are responsible for making sure that all their travel documents are valid and complete.
