A Sudanese passenger tried to hijack EGYPTAIR flight number 736 headed from Istanbul to Cairo. An Economy Class passenger tried to reach for the front of the plane using knife from an in-flight meal. EGYPTAIR onboard security controlled the passenger using the applicable security procedures and detained him in a very short time.

The plane landed safely in Cairo on time at 9:25 CLT, afterwards, the passenger was submitted to the authorities.

 There were 87 passengers from different nationalities and  8 crew on board ,all in a very good condition. The passengers have praised the top notch performance the security and the crew. Captain Alaa Ashour, EGYPTAIR Airlines Chairman and CEO assured that “The passengers’ safety is our priority”. And he praised the professional performance of all the crew members.
All the passengers have left Cairo International Airport after undergoing the usual arrival procedures.
